SURFACE PREPARATION:
- The substrates must be clean, even, dry, free of dust, oil, grease and any contaminants that could harm bonding. We recommend to clean concrete with a metal brush, clean the surface from dust.
- Apply a special primer if necessary. Most of substrates could be bonded without primer. Not recommended to apply some chemicals on the substrate such as kerosene, turpentine, solvent based primers. Because it makes sealant loss adhesion to the surface.
APPLICATION:
- If the joints have the depth than the width, recommend using backing rod before applying TOA POLYURETHANE SEALANT.
- Use sealant gun to apply TOA POLYURETHANE SEALANT, so that the sealant comes into filling the gap and complete contact with both sides of the gap, avoiding air entrapment.
- After application, use a putty knife to smooth the joint. Remove masking tape before sealant has started to cure.
- Should be leave the sealant for fully cure at least 7 days before applying the paint in next step.
- Do not apply at a temperature under 0°C. In cold weather, store at 20°C before use.
- Avoid any contact with solvent. Should not be painted over with a solvent based primer or materials containing solvent based.
- Tools should be cleaned with MEK or acetone before the sealant has complete cured. In case the sealant has cured, it can be cleaned by mechanical means.
RECOMMENDATION:
- Drying time depends on the size of the gaps.
- Joint should have a width and depth ratio of 2:1 for material can fully flexible.
- If large deep gaps, recommend to use backing rod to fill the gaps before apply TOA POLYURETHANE SEALANT.
- This product should be used within 24 hours of opening the cartridge protection; otherwise, the sealant could harden in the cartridge.
- Application temperature from 5°C to 40°C.
- Service temperature from -40°C to 70°C.
- Do not work in direct sunlight or work on hot surfaces. The material may
