Construction methods

  • Application tools: Brush, roller, or high-pressure spray gun.
  • After use: Clean the tools with clean water immediately after application.

Construction Guide

Surface preparation:

  • The surface must be cleaned from dust, cement laitance and oil grease.
  • In case of mold and algae, brush and clean with TOA 113 Micro kill then leave it dry before coating with TOA PU Waterproof.
  • Deformed paint or coating must be thoroughly cleaned before application.
  • Fill all cracks wide with TOA Polyurethane Sealant then leave it dry before coating with TOA PU Waterproof.
  • Repair concrete crumbling or big cracks on surfaces with TOA Latex Agent prior to coating.
  • Make sure concrete surface moisture do not exceed 16% for TOA PU Waterproofing diluted with fresh water at a ratio of 3:1 and do not exceed 4% for Epoguard varnish.

Application:

  • Stir well with low speed mixer before use, especially tinted.
  • For the roof or floor slab: apply TOA PU Waterproofing as a primer with a rate 0.3 kg/m2 (mixing with fresh water at a ratio of 3:1, the amount of water to dillute is 0.1 kg/m2), leave to dry 1 – 2 hours. Or, we can apply Epoguard Varnish as a primer layer at a rate of 0.1 – 0.2 kg/m2 to enhance better tensile adhesive strength, leave it dry for 12 - 24 hours approximately (drying time are generally related to air circulation, temperature, film thickness, etc).
  • Apply 1st coat of TOA PU Waterproof (do not add water) at a rate of 0.6 – 0.7 kg/m2 (dry film thickness of 0.35 mm), leave to dry 2 – 4 hours in each coat.
  • Reinforce with TOA Fiber Mesh to improve adhesion and prevent cracks after applying 1st coat immediately and press against the surface.
  • Apply 2nd coat (do not add water) at a rate of 0.6 – 0.7 kg/ m2, leave to dry 2 - 4 hours in each coat.
  • Apply 3rd coat (do not add water) at a rate of 0.5 – 0.6 kg/ m2, leave to fully cure after 7 days.

Recommended:

  • TOA PU Waterproof should not be applied to new concrete less than 28 days old and other cementitious surfaces less than 7 days old.
  • For areas expected to be cracked, the corner between floor and wall should be applied.
  • Do not use TOA PU Waterproof while raining.
  • TOA PU Waterproof gets fully resistance properties after 7 days.
  • TOA PU Waterproof uses for waterproofing for all horizontal (roof deck) or vertical masonry surfaces not suitable for long term water ponding (water tank).
  • Wash all tools immediately after use with water.
  • Contact TOA for further detailed method of statement for specific Preparation & application.
