TOA 258 Cement Membrane

TOA 258 Cement Membrane is a ready-to-use, two-component waterproofing product. Part A is a liquid modified polymer, and Part B is a powder mixture of cement, selected fine aggregates, and special additives. When mixed, these two components form a liquid mortar solution, convenient for application on mortar and concrete surfaces to create an elastic, waterproof and protective coating.

- Pre-packaged according to mixing ratio, convenient for mixing and easy application.
- Modified polymer components enhance adhesion to surfaces.
- Creates a seamless, jointless waterproofing membrane.
- Capable of sealing cracks ≤ 0.50 mm.
- Non-toxic product, suitable for surfaces exposed to potable water.

Packaging: 20 kg kit (Part A: 5 kg, Part B: 15 kg)

Intended use:

TOA 258 Cement Membrane is a professional waterproofing product used on concrete floors, walls, and plaster surfaces, both indoors and outdoors, with a protective layer. It is used in new construction and renovation projects such as:
- Waterproofing the interior surfaces of domestic water tanks, fire water tanks, swimming pools, water pits, etc., before plastering or tiling.
- Waterproofing floors and walls in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry areas, balconies, loggias, or other wet areas, etc., before tiling or stone tiling.
- Waterproofing retaining walls, terraces, balconies, etc., with a protective plaster layer.

Technical Data

  • Theoretical coverage: 2.0 ± 0.2 kg/m²
  • Color: Part A is a milky white liquid, Part B is a gray aggregate powder.
  • Adhesion strength under normal conditions after 28 days: ≥ 0.5 MPa
  • Adhesion strength after water immersion: ≥ 0.5 MPa
  • Adhesion strength after thermal aging: ≥ 0.5 MPa
  • Crack bridging capability under normal conditions: ≥ 0.75 mm
  • Water permeability under 1.5 bar hydrostatic pressure for 7 days: Impermeable.

Construction methods

  • Tools: Stirrer, trowel, brush, roller, or spray gun.
  • Mixing ratio: Mixing ratio of component A B = 1 3 by weight.
  • After use: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use. Hardened material should be cleaned mechanically.

Construction Guide

SURFACE PREPARATION
- Mortar and concrete surfaces must be cleaned, ensuring they are free of dust, oil, grease, old paint, curing agents, or other contaminants. Absorbent surfaces must be completely saturated with clean water before application.
- Pour ¾ of component A into a clean container, turn on the mixer at low speed (300-500 rpm), and gradually add component B.
- Mix thoroughly for 5 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, free of lumps. Continue adding the remaining component A and continue mixing until homogeneous.
APPLICATION
- Use a trowel, brush, roller, or spray gun to apply the mixed mortar to the cleaned and thoroughly moistened surface.
- Allow to dry for 3-6 hours before applying the next coat.
- When applying to a horizontal surface, the next layer should be applied after 24 hours to ensure the application process does not affect the previous layer.
- Allow to dry completely for at least 7 days before use.
MAINTENANCE
- After application, a minimum curing period of 3-5 days is required, avoiding direct sunlight, high temperatures, strong winds, and frost to prevent rapid drying that could affect the quality of the waterproofing membrane.
- Curing with nylon sheets, damp burlap sacks, or professional concrete curing agents approved by TOA is recommended.
- Application should be carried out in an air temperature range of 5°C to 35°C and relative humidity below 80%.
