TOA 268 Cement Membrane

TOA 268 Cement Membrane is a two pack cement waterproofing cement based. Part A is modified polymer liquid and part B is a pre-mixed powder compounds of cement, selected fine aggregate and special additives. These two components, when mixed together, form a liquid mortar solution that is convenient for application on mortar and concrete surfaces to form a high elastic coating with waterproof and protective properties.

TOA 268 Cement Membrane has the following outstanding features and benefits:

1. Prepackaged according to convenient mixing ratio for easy mixing and application.

2. Improved polymer composition increases good adhesion on surfaces.

3. After mixing, it forms a layer of a flexible, high-viscosity solution that is convenient for application by brush or machine spray.

4. After application, create an elastic coating that can withstand stretching for cracks up to 2mm coverage under normal stretching of the substrate.

5. Non-toxic product can be applied to residential water contact surfaces.

6. Permits transpiration – for surface venting, preventing build-up of vapor pressure.

Construction Guide

Surface Preparation:

Concrete and mortar surfaces must be prepared clean, make sure there is no cement mortar, dust dirt, oil, grease, old coatings, curing agents or other impurities. Absorbent surfaces must be completely saturated before application.
Repair defects in concrete such as voids, honeycomb holes, etc. with TOA repair mortar to create a flat and even surface. Moister and saturate the substrate surface before application TOA 268 Cement Membrane.

Mixing:

  • Mix with a mixer at low speed 300-500 rpm
  • Put ¾ part A in a clean pail. Keep stirring machine run slowly speed at 300-500 rpm, add part B slowly and mix at least 5 minutes to get a lump-free homogenous mix. Add part A remainder and mix until homogenous.

Application:

  • Apply the mixed screed by brush, roller or sprayer onto the treated surface clean as well as saturate the water completely.
  • The application area is shielded from direct sunlight or wind to avoid rapid drying of the waterproofing membrane.
  • Allow to dry for 6-8 hours for vertical surface before applying the next coat.
  • When applying on a horizontal surface, it is recommended to apply next coating after 8 hours to ensure that the application process does not affect the former layer.
  • Allow to dry at least 5 days before apply protection layer, completely dry for at least 7 days before putting into use.

Curing:

  • After application, it should be cured for at least 3-5 days, away from sunlight direct, high temperature or high wind, frost to avoid drying too quickly affecting the quality of the waterproofing membrane. Curing with plastic sheeting, damp sacks or professional concrete curing agents approved by TOA is recommended.
  • Please Contact TOA for further detailed method of statement for specific Preparation & application.
