TOA 268 Cement Membrane

TOA 268 Cement Membrane is a two pack cement waterproofing cement based. Part A is modified polymer liquid and part B is a pre-mixed powder compounds of cement, selected fine aggregate and special additives. These two components, when mixed together, form a liquid mortar solution that is convenient for application on mortar and concrete surfaces to form a high elastic coating with waterproof and protective properties.

TOA 268 Cement Membrane has the following outstanding features and benefits:

1. Prepackaged according to convenient mixing ratio for easy mixing and application.

2. Improved polymer composition increases good adhesion on surfaces.

3. After mixing, it forms a layer of a flexible, high-viscosity solution that is convenient for application by brush or machine spray.

4. After application, create an elastic coating that can withstand stretching for cracks up to 2mm coverage under normal stretching of the substrate.

5. Non-toxic product can be applied to residential water contact surfaces.

6. Permits transpiration – for surface venting, preventing build-up of vapor pressure.

Intended use:

TOA 268 Cement Membrane is used for professional waterproofing on concrete floors, walls, and plaster surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. It is suitable for new construction and renovation projects such as:
- Waterproofing the interior surfaces of domestic water tanks, fire water tanks, swimming pools, water pits, etc., before plastering or tiling.
- Waterproofing floors and walls in bathrooms, kitchens, laundry areas, balconies, loggias, or other wet areas before tiling.
- Waterproofing retaining walls, terraces, balconies, etc., with a protective plaster layer.

  • Equipment cleaning: Clean all tools and application equipment with clean water immediately after use.
  • Hardened or cured material can be removed mechanically.:

Construction Guide

Surface Preparation:

  • Mortar and concrete surfaces must be cleaned, ensuring they are free of cement mortar, dust, oil, grease, old paint, curing agents, or other contaminants.
  • Absorbent surfaces must be fully saturated before application.
  • Repair concrete defects such as voids and honeycomb structures using TOA repair mortar to create a smooth and even surface.
  • Moisten the surface with water before applying TOA 268 Cement Membrane.

Mixing Instructions:

  • Mix using a mixer at low speed (300-500 rpm).
  • Pour ¾ of component A into a clean container, turn on the mixer at low speed, and gradually add component B. Mix thoroughly for 5 minutes until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained. Continue adding the remaining component A and continue mixing until homogeneous.

Application:

  • Apply the mixed mortar layer using a brush, roller, or spray gun onto the cleaned and thoroughly saturated surface.
  • The application area should be shielded from direct sunlight and wind to prevent rapid drying of the waterproofing membrane.
  • The minimum drying time and recoating time is 8 hours before applying the next layer.
  • The actual drying time and recoating time may be longer or shorter depending on ambient temperature, temperature, waterproofing membrane thickness, ventilation, air humidity, number of waterproofing layers, etc.
  • Allow at least 5 days to dry before applying the protective layer, and at least 7 days to dry completely before use.

Maintenance:

  • After application, allow for a minimum curing period of 3-5 days, avoiding direct sunlight, high temperatures, strong winds, and frost to prevent rapid drying that could affect the quality of the waterproofing membrane.
  • It is recommended to cure the concrete using plastic sheeting, damp burlap sacks, or professional concrete curing agents approved by TOA.
